Chapter Seven

Gregory slowly woke from his slumber with the feeling that someone was staring at him. He groggily blinked open his eyes and met the amused face of a man who looked exactly like his Thanatos. He had the same black eyes and the same sexy smile, but his ebony hair fell in loose curls down his back and shoulders.

“Hello.” The man’s voice wasn’t as deep as Thanatos’ nor was it as lyrical sounding.

He definitely was not his Than.

Behind him, Gregory could feel the warm body of his Than cuddled up next to him. His hot breath and deep breathing in his ear clued Gregory that his caretaker was still in a deep sleep. Gregory didn’t want to wake his lover, but as he watched Than’s twin watch him with steady black eyes, an uneasy feeling swept over him.

“Um, hi,” Gregory said in his normal voice. It was definitely time for Than to wake up. What was Than’s brother doing here anyway?

“I’m Hypnos, and you are?” The man extended his delicate looking hand toward him.

Gregory didn’t really want to touch Hypnos, but since he also didn’t want to appear rude, or to piss off Than and his brother from his lack of manners, he placed his hand into the cool, soft one of the mysterious man and quickly shook it. “Gregory Harris, pleased to meet you,” he said, and quickly released Hypnos’ hand.

“Likewise,” Hypnos said giving him a flirtatious wink.

“Hypnos, you better not be flirting with my lover.” Thanatos’ voice practically growled behind him.

“Ah, you’re awake, little brother. I was beginning to wonder if I mistakenly put you under one of my sleeping spells,” Hypnos said with a light teasing voice. He sat gingerly on the edge of the bed and flicked some of his long ebony locks over his shoulder. “It’s about time you woke up.”

Thanatos gently squeezed Gregory’s middle and he heard his caretaker’s long sigh behind him. “What are you doing here?”

Hypnos gave them both an innocent smile and shrugged. “I had heard from the grapevine that you had a new lover, and I was practically dying from curiosity to meet him.”

“You know curiosity killed that cat, dear brother.”

“So they say.”

Gregory was beginning to believe that there wasn’t a lot of love lost between the twin brothers. The tension between them was so thick Gregory knew he could probably cut through it with a knife.

“Do you mind waiting in the other room, Hypnos? Gregory and I will dress and meet you in there shortly.” Thanatos’ voice held a choppy, curt quality to it that Gregory had never heard his lover have before.

Hypnos rolled his eyes and gave a long suffering sigh. “Whatever bro, it’s not like you or your lover has anything I’ve never seen before.”

With a flick of the wrist, Hypnos disappeared, leaving Gregory and Thanatos alone once again.

“Shit! What the hell is he doing here?” Thanatos groaned. He slid his arm away from Gregory’s waist and lay back on the bed. Gregory immediately missed the warmth and security of Than’s body and rolled over to his side and leaned over him.
